I'm on Day 2 of my Brain Highways course, and I'm fascinated! The neuroscience on brain plasticity is truly astounding, and I've only just tapped the surface. First of all, we have far more than just our 5 senses affecting us, two of which are compromised in disorganized brains. These are the vestibular and proprioception systems. Both are influenced by movement and gravity. Basically, when these 2 systems are compromised, we feel like we are not grounded, which can create much anxiety in our lives. I have never felt grounded. In addition, I have no sense of direction. Most importantly, this anxiety creates the fight or flight response in our bodies, and it absolutely does not help us in our relationships.
There is so much more to write about, but I'm processing a lot of information myself, so I'll stop here. As my brain changes (and becomes more organized), I believe my writing, even on this blog, will demonstrate signs of better organization. We shall see. All I have to say right now is... thank you Nancy Sokol Green for your brilliant mind in coming up with Brain Highways. I know this program is going to be amazing.
