Today I'm writing another update regarding Brain Highways. I have been creeping now for 61/2 weeks and crawling for almost 2 weeks. Although I haven't noticed any differences related to the mid-brain, I have noticed some differences due to the pons development. I've mentioned those changes in previous posts. However, some new areas I'd like to touch on include pain issues. For years I have had a tremendous amount of pain in my neck, especially the right side, and in my back and leg, both on the left side. In fact, when I would walk, I could feel the strain in my left foot, pulling all the way up into my back.
Because of the proprioceptive work I've been doing for Brain Highways, and because of my Bikram yoga, especially the balancing poses, I do not feel a lot of that pain in my back, foot, and leg anymore. Most of the pain I experience now is related to yoga stretching and strengthening of the muscles - so a GOOD pain, not the bad pain I experienced for years.
My neck is also much better. Although my neck is sore when I creep, I have noticed major changes when I'm not creeping. I can sit at my computer for much longer than I ever could before because now the neck pain is slight. I used to have pain levels of 9s and 10s, and now they are 3s, sometimes 4s (on a scale of 1-10). When I crawl, I feel a pain in my right wrist that shoots up to my neck. I have super tight scalenes, so I believe all this creeping and crawling is building the muscles in my neck and certainly in my arms and back. In fact, I'm going to include a picture here of my new back muscles. I attribute them to both Brain Highways, compliments of creeping, and Bikram yoga. I've never had back muscles like this - ever!! It's quite exciting to feel this good!
